The Right of the People ... shall not be infringed
Signers: 59134
We, the people of these United States, rightfully petition our President, House of Representatives and Senate in affirmation of the Second Amendment to the United States Constitution, "A well regulated militia being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the People to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed."
We affirm that said Amendment was established to define an individual "right of the People to keep and bear arms," and that there is no more important constitutional issue than that of defending the plain language and original intent of the Second Amendment.
The newly-emboldened Democrat Party, with Barack Hussein Obama leading the charge, is once again attempting to redefine the Second Amendment as a collective right only, as outlined on the ACLU's website under "Gun Control": "We believe that the constitutional right to bear arms is primarily a collective one, intended mainly to protect the right of the states to maintain militias. ... The ACLU therefore believes that the Second Amendment does not confer an unlimited right upon individuals to own guns."
Justice Joseph Story, appointed to the Supreme Court by our Constitution's principal author, James Madison, wrote in his Commentaries on the Constitution of the United States (1833), "The right of the citizens to keep and bear arms has justly been considered, as the palladium of the liberties of the republic; since it offers a strong moral check against usurpation and arbitrary power of the rulers; and will generally, even if these are successful in the first instance, enable the people to resist and triumph over them."
Indeed, the Second Amendment is "the palladium of the liberties of the republic," and those who fail to support it as such, and reject detractors like Obama, do so at great peril to themselves and the liberty of future generations of Americans.
Accordingly, we declare that gun ownership is not only an individual right, but a duty and obligation of all Patriots.

Free the Texas Three and Secure our Borders
Signers: 71843
A citizen petition calling on President Bush to commute the sentences of both former Border Patrol agents Ignacio Ramos and Jose Alonso Compean, and their colleague, former Sheriff’s Deputy Guillermo Hernandez; asking Congress to insist that the DEA prosecute Mexican national Osvaldo Aldrete-Davila on felony drug-distribution charges; and demanding that Congress and the Bush administration secure our borders.
In a letter to President Bush on 19 July 2007, Sen. Diane Feinstein and Sen. John Cornyn, having concluded senate hearings on the Ramos and Compean case, called on President Bush to commute the sentences of both agents, noting that the hearings "confirmed the concerns raised by many members of the public: that this penalty levied on these agents is excessive and that they deserve the immediate exercise of your executive clemency powers."
Further, the signers of this petition demand that the Congress and the Bush administration take action to secure our borders before any legitimate immigration debate commence.
At that point, immigration legislation must authorize and fund these priorities: enforcement of current immigration laws; immediate detention and deportation of those crossing our borders illegally; deportation of any foreign national convicted of a serious crime or seditious activity; a guest-worker program (with reliable documentation as a prerequisite) to meet the current demand for unskilled labor; penalties against employers who hire undocumented workers; no extension of blanket amnesty or fast-track citizenship (new citizenship applicants go to the back of the line); the preservation and provision of tax-subsidized medical, educational and social services for American citizens and immigrants here legally; and the Americanization of new legal immigrants, including an end to bilingual education and a national mandate for English as our nation's official language.
Additionally, the Supreme Court must affirm that there is no constitutional birthright citizenship for children of illegal aliens. The 14th Amendment's relevant clause reads "All persons born or naturalized in the United States and subject to the jurisdiction thereof." Children born to those who have entered the U.S. illegally are not "subject to the jurisdiction thereof."
If immigration policy does not start at the border, our national heritage will end there. Please support the national campaign to stop the compromise and secure our borders.

Stop Albert Gore -- Reject the UN's Global Warming Treaty!
Signers: 82730
A citizen petition to urge the United States Senate to reject the 1997 United Nations Kyoto Protocols Treaty purporting to address global warming by constraining economic growth in the United States while allowing unmitigated growth in 129 other nations, included two of the largest world economies in China and India.
In 1997, Dr. Frederick Seitz, past president of the National Academy of Sciences, invited colleagues to sign a petition in opposition to Kyoto Protocols, which stated, in part: "There is no convincing scientific evidence that human release of carbon dioxide, methane, or other greenhouse gasses is causing or will, in the foreseeable future, cause catastrophic heating of the Earth's atmosphere and disruption of the Earth's climate. Moreover, there is substantial scientific evidence that increases in atmospheric carbon dioxide produce many beneficial effects upon the natural plant and animal environments of the Earth."
That petition received 20,000 signers, most of whom hold advanced degrees in climatology or relevant fields. Subsequently, the Senate overwhelmingly rejected Kyoto (95-0) by way of the 1997 Byrd-Hagel Senate resolution, which objected to the lack of any "specific scheduled commitments" in regard to the CO2 output of "developing" countries."
Now, ten years later, we reject the Orwellian solutions proposed by Albert Arnold Gore and others who claim that the Kyoto Protocols must be adopted to stop global warming. The science of climate change is very imprecise, and current trends in climate change may have little or nothing to do with production of so-called "greenhouse gasses" such as carbon dioxide. Gore's solutions will only impede the advancement of scientific and technological innovation, and would impoverish hundreds of millions of people around the world.

A Call to prayer for our Armed Forces
Signers: 22816
A citizen petition to pray for our uniformed Patriots who stand in harm's way around the world, particularly in Afghanistan and Iraq, in defense of our liberty, and for their families awaiting their safe return.
As America's Armed Forces defend our nation against Jihadistan and the spread of Islamist fascism, we encourage all fellow Patriots on the home front to pray for their mission, their safety and their families. Scripture repeatedly commands us, as Christians, to be a people of prayer. Philippians 4:6 says, "Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God."
For guidance in this particular endeavor, please see Psalm 91, sometimes known as "The Soldier's Psalm."
We remain the proud and the free because Patriots -- American Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen, Marines and Coastguardsmen -- have stood bravely in harm's way, and remain on post today. For this, we, the American People, offer our heartfelt thanks and prayers.
Please sign this petition of prayer to express your gratitude and commitment to pray for these Patriots on a regular basis.

A Balanced Budget Amendment... and Tax Reform to Match
Signers: 28881
At present, Republicans control the executive branch and both houses of Congress, yet the size and regulatory role of the central government has grown, largely unabated since President George W. Bush took office. The President's fiscal budget for 2007, though leaner than previous budgets, reflects spending increases over his tenure of almost 50 percent more than Bill Clinton's last budget. So we're left to ponder why, with the Senate and House under Republican leadership, George Bush has yet to embrace Ronald Reagan's legacy, and make limited government and fair taxation his administration's chief objectives.
The only real hope for preventing the weight of the central government from crushing the life from our Republic is to renew the bid for a constitutionally mandated balanced-budget amendment and to enact real tax reform (such as that proposed under HR25 -- FairTax Bill). That amendment and reform will force Congress to either make dramatic cuts in government spending or enact enormous tax increases to pay for the current distended and mostly unconstitutional government budget.
A Balanced Budget Amendment, combined with real tax reform -- namely, a flat or national sales tax with deductions and exclusions -- will result in a reduction in government spending. American taxpayers will not tolerate bearing the burden of the actual cost of government.
We call on Republicans -- our President and Congress -- to make such legislation the new priority in Washington, ushering in a new era of restraint, responsibility and respect for the constitutional limitations of government. We expect President Bush to embrace Ronald Reagan's legacy, and make limited government and fair taxation his administration's principal objectives for the remainder of his second term.

Petition to Restore Constitutional Integrity
Signers: 38258
A citizen petition to restore Constitutional integrity to government, and entreat the Executive, Legislative and Judicial branches to confine their actions to comport with the limits of Constitutional law.
Whereas the Republican President and Republican majorities in the House and Senate, have shown disregard, if not outright contempt for the Constitutional limitations placed upon their respective branches of our central government, We The People of these United States call upon our national leaders to restore the Constitutional integrity or our government. Amid the abuse, neglect and ignorance of the Constitution that permeates American government today, even among those who would call themselves conservative, we call on congressional leaders and President Bush, in their respective branches, to hence forth respect our nation's law by restricting the role of government to that enumerated by our Constitution, and to ensure that appointments to the federal courts will do likewise.

Open Letter in Support of America's Armed Forces
Signers: 152206
Republics win wars. Thus is the verdict of history, and this truth has not been lost on America's Armed Forces. In the current war against Islamist terrorism, they have been called upon to defend our republic and to promote its virtues in an ideological struggle against those who would destroy it. As Thomas Jefferson once said, "Although a republican government is slow to move, yet when once in motion, its momentum becomes irresistible." Jefferson spoke truly, as evidenced in the actions of our nation's military in the years following the deliberate attack on our countrymen on September 11, 2001. Since that time, U.S. forces have been called upon to wage war against Islamist terrorists in every corner of the globe: Afghanistan, Iraq, the Philippines, sub-Saharan Africa and other places around the world.
The Bush Doctrine of preemptive action, possibly the most singularly significant addition to American foreign policy since the Truman Doctrine of the Cold War, has resulted in a deployment of the U.S. Armed Forces unparalleled in some 40 years as our nation combats the threat of global terrorism. And through their actions abroad, America's Armed Forces have demonstrated that they can win not the war only, but they can win the peace as well. We remain the proud and the free because Patriots -- American Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen, Marines and Coastguardsmen -- have stood bravely in harm's way, and remain on post today. For this, we, the American People, offer our heartfelt thanks.
Please sign this Open Letter to express your gratitude.

Petition to Investigate and Indict John F. Kerry for acts of treason
Signers: 213740
Though John Kerry has an extensive and well-documented record of anti-American activities over the past three decades, it is his acts of treason in 1970-71 that are the subject of this petition for indictment. Our appeal notes both Kerry's violations of the UCMJ (Article 104 part 904) and U.S. Code (18 USC Sec. 2381 and 18 USC Sec. 953), and calls for his disqualification for public office in accordance with the Constitution's Fourteenth Amendment, Section 3, which states: "No person shall be a Senator or Representative in Congress, or elector of President and Vice-President ... having previously taken an oath ... to support the Constitution of the United States, [who has] engaged in insurrection or rebellion against the same, or given aid or comfort to the enemies thereof."
Why prosecute John Kerry now? In October 2003, Mr. Kerry chose to make his Vietnam war record the centerpiece of his campaign for the presidency; this has been especially true since his primary victory in March 2004. In response, more than 175,000 signatories of the above-referenced petition for indictment have made his war record the centerpiece of their campaign to disqualify Kerry from public office. It is likely that no action will be taken on the petitioners' request while Kerry is a sitting senator. Be it known, however, that we will continue to insist the current AG and DoJ review this case in an effort to have John Kerry prosecuted for acts of treason and disqualified from any future campaign for any national office. We are thus committed to holding Mr. Kerry accountable for his actions, as there is no statute of limitations for acts of treason.
NOTICE: This petition for indictment was delivered to Senate President Richard Cheney, Senate Majority Leader Bill Frist and Attorney General John Ashcroft on Monday, 18 October 2004. We are currently awaiting a reply from the Department of Justice. Click here to read the full text of the letter.

Reject Renewal of Feinstein-Schumer Gun-Control Act
Signers: 105519
A citizen petition to affirm the Second Amendment to our Constitution, requesting that the President, our Representatives and Senators reject legislation to renew the 1994 Clinton-Feinstein-Schumer gun-control law scheduled to sunset on 13 September 2004. Though House Majority Leader Tom DeLay says "The votes in the House are not there" to renew the measure, Senators Feinstein and Schumer will press for a roll call vote in order to politicize this legislation prior to the upcoming Presidential election. Unfortunately, President Bush has signaled that he will sign the renewal bill if Congress approves it -- an affront to the Constitutional right of all law abiding citizens to own semi-automatic rifles for lawful purposes -- though it is understood that Mr. Bush's position on the matter politically calculates that the measure will not get through Congress.

The Enumerated Powers Amendment
Signers: 65458
"The Enumerated Powers Amendment: An Amendment to Article V of the United States Constitution" -- A citizen petition to stop judicial activists who endeavor to alter the meaning of the U.S. Constitution, willfully violating their oaths to uphold it by divining the "spirit of the Constitution" and amending it by judicial diktat in full disregard for the constitutional prescription for amendment in Article 5. Thus, We, the people of these United States, do call on our representatives to sponsor "The Enumerated Powers Amendment."
This amendment to restore the "original intent" of our governing constitution is, without question, the most important amendment proposal in the history of our Republic. In order to advance this critical proposal in Congress, we must obtain as much citizen support as possible. Act now to restore the integrity of our Constitution.

Repeal the 16th Amendment and Abolish the Income Tax
Signers: 38871
A citizen petition to repeal the 16th Amendment and abolish the personal income tax, in accordance with Article I, Section 9 of the U.S. Constitution and the original Federalist Papers. As our nation's Founders understood, the federal government would be constitutionally limited both in the means of collection and expenditure of the tax payers' money. This constitutional protection was undermined, however, when the 16th Amendment was passed by Congress on July 2, 1909, and ratified on February 3, 1913: "The Congress shall have power to lay and collect taxes on incomes, from whatever source derived, without apportionment among the several States, and without regard to any census or enumeration." It is thus our firm belief as American citizens that meaningful tax reform -- replacing the income tax with an alternative like a national sales tax -- is essential to America's economic future, and fundamental to our nation's historic commitment to personal liberty and equality.

Terminate U.S. Membership in the UN
Signers: 64400
A citizen petition on behalf of our Constitutional and national sovereignty requesting that our elected leadership -- the President, House of Representatives and Senate -- support measures to terminate all participation by the United States in the United Nations, terminate any and all U.S. taxpayer-funded support for the UN, and prohibit American Armed Forces from serving under the command of the United Nations anywhere in the world.
